Clyde Bert Glasscock, Jr., age 79, resident of Memphis and husband of the late Irene Culver Glasscock, departed this life Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018 at the King’s Daughters and Sons Home in Bartlett.
Graveside Services for Mr. Glasscock were conducted at 3 P.M. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. The members of the family that officiated were Danny Ray Hill and Jerry Culver. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Glasscock was born February 26, 1938 in Bolivar, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School and was married November 6, 1957 to the former Lela Irene Culver, a native of the Macon Community in Fayette County. He was employed as an apartment manager for LEDIC Management Group for many years before his retirement. Mr. Glasscock enjoyed watching movies and television and working with smartphones and cell phones.
Mr. Glasscock is survived by his daughter, Terri Lynn Mendoza of Moline, IL; his son, Tony Looney (Penny) of Bartlett, TN; his sister, Louise Warf of Millington, TN; his brother, James Glasscock of Memphis, TN; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Irene Culver Glasscock who died January 4, 2013; his parents, Clyde Bert Glasscock, Sr. and Sarah Gretchen Black Glasscock; and his daughter, Sharon Cox.
