Dearest Miss Peggy and family... Heaven has just welcomed Mr. Franklin home with a glorious reception with our Lord and Savior's House. Miss Peggy... you have been devoted not only to Mr. Franklin and your family, but to all of your Oak Grove Church family and community. You, Mr. Franklin and your family were so dear to us and our family and we love you all. I fondly remember Mr. Franklin coming (and bringing some of his homemade wine) and spending hours to visit with Uncle Will Rhea (Col. Winfrey) and talk about the "olden days." Will Rhea always laughed and told the story Franklin's older brother Howell taught him to read in the little one room schoolhouse Glade Springs. Will Rhea said that Howell always made him read it twice to make sure got it. While our hearts are filled with sorrow, we ask for God's mercy, peace and comfort on you and your family. All of love...Laura Lillian and Laura Elizabeth Winfrey and family
