Marcia,
My heart is broken for you and your family. Donnie was just such a sweet sweet person. Some of my fondest memories of high school involve him and our gang. I hope that knowing how well loved he was can somehow help you through this time. You will hear from many of his buddies from Martin, I am sure.

Dear Marcia,
You are in my heart and prayers at this time. I was stunned to hear about Don from your neighbor, Susan. Anything the other knitters and I can do for you, you let me know. They are in shock as well. Just know we love and support you.
Love,
Emily

Don was very special to us. We will always treasure our memories of his humor, affection, caring nature, and the way he attended to life. He had a gusto and sense of presence that few have. To us he was more than brother-in-law and more than friend. We will miss him and we will indeed be sharing his stories and jokes.

Don; not only was he a brother to me, he allowed me to work for him when I was growing up. As an impressionable youth, Don instilled in me a strong and honest work ethic that I hold to this day. I am humbled and forever grateful to Don for being in my life!
Doug and David – each of you hold a special place in my heart and I know the passing of your father is not easy. A bible passage to help soften the sting is 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV). Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
My prayer to the family - God of power and mercy, you have made death itself the gateway to eternal life. Grant Don Nanny the joy of Your Presence, and his sons David and Doug the happiness of knowing this. Amen.
Love,
Greg & Becky

Dear Marcia and family,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I had the honor of being a member of 'Don's high school gang' that others mentioned, so I am blessed to have known Don, his mom, dad, and brothers for most of my life. They've always felt like an extension of my family.
What a wonderful legacy of a life well-lived that Don has left for you and your family!
I pray the grace and peace of Christ will support and sustain you in your time of grief.
Yours in Christ,
David R. Reed

We will always hold fond memories of Donald. He rode the schoolbus with me and Diane Freeman when we were 1st graders, and we thought he was so cute. He always got part of our candy from the little store by the school as we rode home. He and Ronald coached ball together when our sons were young, and it was the most fun Ronald ever had coaching. Donald was always so kind and happy. Our sincere sympathy to all of the family.

Dear Mrs. Nanney:
I was very saddened to hear of Don's passing last week. Rick Myers of H T Hackney was nice enough to call and let me know. Your husband's family hauled milk for our farm in Cottage Grove when I was growing up. The Hunts think a lot of the Nanney family and appraciate all the work they did for us wjhen we milked. I can remember Don coming by the farm on the milk truck when i was a young boy. We saw each other at Hackney Quality Time and reminisced about how things had changed for us. I live in Maryville now and operate stores that Hackney in Lenoir City supplies. Your husband was a fine man and his passing hurts. Know that folks as far away as the Smokies are thinking of you and yours.
