Michael "Mike" Eugene Pruitt, resident of Southaven, Mississippi former resident of Fayette County and retired Arkansas and Tennessee Radio Disk Jockey and Program Director died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was 60 years of age and died after a brief illness.

A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Pruitt was from 4 to 5 P.M. Friday, July 16th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Personal Remarks given by Family and Friends. A Private Interment will take place and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Pruitt was born December 18, 1949 in Loretto, TN, the son of the late William Eugene Pruitt and the late Lora Mae McDonald Pruitt. He moved to Fayette County at an early age with his family and was educated in the Fayette County Public School System where he was a graduate of the Fayette Ware High School in Somerville, class of 1968. He continued his education at Freed-Hardeman University at Henderson, TN.

He was a Christian devoted to his family. Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife, Lynne Lane of Southaven, two sisters: Martha Pleasants of Whiteville and Margaret Ridings of Middleton, two step-sons, Jason Lane and Kevin Lane both of Memphis, a step-grandaughter, Inda Lane, three nieces and two nephews.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Stroke Foundation, 5960 Dearborn Street, Mission, Kansas 66202.
