Artie Jean (Vick) Webb

Artie Jean Vick Webb, age 95, resident of Piperton, Tennessee and wife of the late Chester S. “Check” Webb, departed this life Monday morning, October 24, 2022 at her home.

Artie was born July 5, 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Clifford Vick and Grace Day Vick. She was married in 1946 to Chester S. “Check” Webb and they moved to Piperton where she remained there until her death. She was a Sunday School teacher and bookkeeper for several years and a lifelong member of Collierville First Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir.

Mrs. Webb retired from Collierville Elementary School as cafeteria manager. She was a member of the VFW and worked at voting polls. She loved traveling, dancing, music and having fun with her family and many friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Webb (Kathy) and Clifton “Kippy” Webb (Becky); two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son, Alan Webb (Linda); three granddaughters, Heather (Scott), Julia and Geri (Chris); four great-grandsons, Hunter, Taylor, Logan and Jaden; great-granddaughter, Kayla; and one great-great-grandson, Travis.

Mrs. Webb will be interred at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
