Barry Ronald Joyner, age 82, of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on September 6, 2026.

Barry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as a mechanic for most of his career. He had a love for anything outdoors, especially fishing. He enjoyed building fires, working on cars, playing cards, and bowling in a league with Memphis Light, Gas & Water.

His faith was an important part of his life. Barry served as a deacon at Gray Road Baptist Church, where he also loved singing in the choir. Above all, Barry loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Regina Joyner Frazier; two sons, Richey Joyner (Tammy) and Barry Joyner; one sister, Sandra Harder; two brothers, Larry Joyner and Billy Joyner; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Jamie, Storm, Sierra, Matt, Cheyenne, Kayla, and Jacob; and eight great-grandchildren, Winter, River, Olivia, Mason, Houston, Elliott, Holly, and Kinsley.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, William Watkins Joyner and Beulah Pauline Harris Joyner; his wife, Barbary Joyner; two sisters, Frances Brumley and Minnie Martindale; and two brothers, Ray Joyner and Jerry Joyner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Peebles West Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Peebles West Funeral Chapel. The service will be officiated by Robert Buse. Interment will follow at Fayette County Memorial Park.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Cody Edmondson, Ryan Logan, Barry Joyner, Steven Pulse, Michael Hopper, and Carroll Martindale, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Joyner, Billy Joyner, Dan Harder, and Richey Joyner.

Barry will be lovingly remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, devotion to his faith, and, most of all, his deep love for his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
