BILLIE JANE HOGAN HOWTON, 78, resident of Somerville. former resident of Memphis, homemaker & employee in earlier years of the Langston Bag Co. in Memphis, died December 21, 2007. Services, 2 P.M. Monday at the Peebles West Fumeral Chapel in Oakland with interment in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64. Visitation, 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Howton was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Howton is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Howton; her daughters, Rita Penn of Coldwater, MS, Debhora Hobson of Walls, MS, Barbara Gillis of Accokeek, MD, Carol Selby of Germantown; her sisters, Betty Flentje of Cherry Valley, AR, Annette Newton of Boaz, KY, Brenda Holt of Reives, KY; 9 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren. The family request memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
