Bruce Wayne Senneke

Bruce Wayne Senneke passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He passed following complications from Lewy Body Dementia.

Bruce was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia M. (Holzer) Senneke. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and he was known for his generous heart and willingness to always lend a helping hand.

Bruce had a zest for life and enjoyed many hobbies and activities with those he loved. He loved gardening alongside Patricia, fishing, golfing, camping, and hiking with his family. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed capturing pictures of his family, fire investigations, race cars, and the beauty of nature. He also treasured his time as a Boy Scout Leader and loved family game nights and movie nights.

Those who knew Bruce will remember his wonderful storytelling, his overflowing generosity, and his ability to find enjoyment in the simple things in life. He loved sunshine, a cold Budweiser, and, perhaps most importantly, Hershey’s chocolate and ice cream covered in chocolate syrup—which, in his eyes, belonged in their own food group. He was also especially fond of his beloved White German Shepherd, “Lady.” Bruce enjoyed being the “original Batman,” a memory sure to bring a smile to those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, Bruce is survived by his daughter, Emily Foster (Jacob); his son, William Senneke (Meghan McGinley); his son-in-law, Ryan Pischke, widower of his late daughter, Holly; his sister, Susan Worofka; his brother, Wayne Senneke (Kay Plano); and his grandchildren, Kenzie, Harper, and Oliver Senneke, Rebekah and Victoria Pischke, and Wade and Chloe Foster. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly (Senneke) Pischke; his nephew, Wayne Senneke, Jr.; and his parents, Warren and Betty (Tweet) Senneke.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His generous spirit, love of family, stories, laughter, and countless memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life for Bruce will be held at a later date in Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in honor of Bruce.
