CarlAnn Cast, age 84, a resident of Saulsbury, Tennessee, departed this life on February 10, 2026 at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born in Gallup, New Mexico, to Carl and Maxine McClain. CarlAnn married in 1963 to Henry Clifford Cast, a man who did not waver in his commitment, strength, and support he provided for his family. Though their journey together was complex, they remained married for 49 years until his death in 2012. After moving from Tucson, AZ, to help her husband Henry to take care of his parents and sister.
She worked for the City of Tucson until she became a full time stay at home mother. She loved to craft and make beautiful creations to give others joy. She mastered the art of crochet, and we will cherish her precious gifts of love. She also loved reading, leather working, beading, cutting edge technology like her knitting machine and the first personal computer. We loved to play cards with her, and you never knew when she was bluffing. She generously gave her time as a volunteer beginning as a librarian at the Grand Junction Library and then the Saulsbury Community Library, where she shared her love of books and community with others.
She is survived by her son, Clifford V. Cast (Mae); her daughter, Chrissy Harrison (Michael); sister, Dorine Marchant; brother John Dale; seven grandchildren, Elske Pierce, T-Sabine Cast, Cody Harrison, Nathan Harrison, Jeffrey Harrison, Nomia Cast, and Kylie Harrison; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl McClain and Maxine Bill Shewmake; her husband, Henry Clifford Cast; and brother Gary L. McClain.
CarlAnn will be remembered by those who knew and loved her. She was a deeply private, smart, talented and independent person who lived her life on her own terms. Her memory will live on in the lives of those she touched. We will miss her, but our comfort is in knowing her suffering has ended. Services for Ms. Cast will be private.
Lovingly written by the family to honor a life well lived.
