DIANNE GREEN PRUITT

DIANNE GREEN PRUITT, resident of Memphis and native Fayette Countian and wife of the late David Reeves Pruitt, died at 7:58 A.M. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was 67 years of age.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pruitt were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 20th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel on Highway 64 near Oakland with the Rev. Paul Scheirer, Pastor of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Memphis, officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Pruitt was born November 18, 1940 in Memphis, the daughter of the late George David Green and the late Ethel Thompson Green. Mrs. Pruitt's late father served as Fayette County Register for many years before his death. Mrs. Pruitt was married August 30, 1958 to David Reeves Pruitt, a native of Fayette County who died December 26, 1978. Mrs. Pruitt graduated with Honors from the Fayette County High School in Somerville and also graduated from the Miller Hawkins School of Business in Memphis.
Mrs. Pruitt had been a resident of Memphis for 30 years and was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She served as an Administrative Assistant for the Arthur Anderson Company for 20 years before her retirement six years ago.
Her grandchildren were the love of her life, and Mrs. Pruitt will be remembered for her devotion to her children and family members. She was a lifelong resident of Fayette and Shelby Counties and while living in Memphis always considered Somerville her home.
Survivors of Mrs. Pruitt include two daughters, Cynthia D. Pruitt of Memphis and Sheryl P. Miller (Charlie) of Horn Lake, MS; her nephew Jeff Brightwell of Bartlett; her sister, Peggy G. Brightwell of Bartlett; one brother, David L. Green of Somerville; two grandchildren, Cory and Amanda Miller, and one grand-dog, "Honey".
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe L. Green who died in 1994.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jeff Brightwell, Scotty Carmon, Gene Brewer, Johnny Wims, Dwayne Wims and Brad Dillon.
Honorary casketbearers were Charlie Miller, David Green, Aubrey Green and Charles Green.
