Fleur Alene Blase

A Life Woven with Faith

Fleur Alene Blase took her final journey home to be with Jesus on July 18th, 2026 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was 89 years old. She lived a life marked by steadfast faith, generous love, and unwavering devotion to God, her family and her friends.

Fleur was born on the coast in Tillamook, Oregon to Clyde and Lois Stevens. She was the oldest of five children, followed by Patricia, Clydine, Daniel and Kathryn; growing up between California and Oregon. Fleur decided to pursue nursing after high school, attending school in Hayward, California. There she met and married Dale Blase, a young man just starting his Air Force career. She followed Dale to many places across the United States, having two children in California, Dale and Jenny; and one in Texas, Yvonne along the way. The family traveled as far as Japan before retiring in Oregon, where they spent the next several decades. Fleur and Dale relocated to Tennessee, a dream of hers from once upon a time, where they spent the golden season of their lives and celebrating 66 years of marriage before Dale passed in 2023.

Fleur shared the gifts God had given her with everyone she met. There are many folks who quilted with her – many retreats where laughter reigned supreme. So many people enjoy the tole paintings that she created and gifted to her friends. She was always ready to listen, gently pointing people back to God when life became difficult. She had a mind like a steel-trap and delighted in puzzles or games that challenged her. If she knew someone needed help, she figured out a way to provide it without ever seeking recognition. She was quietly sneaky like that. Everyone who crossed her path came away feeling seen, valued and loved. She was a faithful prayer warrior, a dependable friend, a generous giver and she set an amazing example of trusting God when life was hard.

Every quilt she stitched carries a piece of her heart. She never simply made quilts; she wrapped people in love and prayers. Long after her hands have grown still, those quilts will continue warming children, grandchildren, and friends—a lasting reminder of a woman whose faith, kindness, and love were woven into every stitch.

Fleur is survived by two children, Dale Blase and his wife Jennifer, Yvonne Lindow and her husband Ken; seven grandsons, Jason Clapshaw, Ryan Blase and his wife Summer, Josh Blase and his wife Shelly, Dan Lindow and his wife Manju, Ben Lindow and his wife Catrina, Jake Lindow and his wife Jill, and Mario Celi and his wife Marie; two granddaughters, Jessica Headrick and her fiancé Ross Kalal, and Sarah Headrick and her fiancé Mark Witt. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Caleb, Landon, Bailey, Brooklyn, Shaley, Skylar, Sydney and Liam and she was looking forward to the newest arrival due next winter. Fleur is survived by her siblings, as well, Patty Baker, Clydine Archer, Dan Stevens and Katie Knies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale and her daughter, Jenny.

Fleur's legacy lives on in the quilts that will warm future generations, in the family Christmas traditions that continue to bring laughter to those she loved, in the faith she passed to her children and grandchildren, and in the countless prayers she faithfully lifted to the very end when the Lord called her home. Her life reminds us that the truest measure of a person is not found in recognition or possessions, but in the love they give, the faith they live, and the lives they quietly change.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
