Gary Marchesini

Gary Marchesini, age 89, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on February 5, 1937 in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania. Gary was the youngest son of the late Joseph and Hazel Marchesini. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Michaels) Marchesini, with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.

Gary proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army Reserves. He built a long career as a Field Engineering Technician, with the Federal Aviation Administration and later with Raytheon. He leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and commitment to the people and country he loved.

Upon his retirement, Gary and Barbara moved to Cordova, Tennessee, where they enjoyed escaping the cold winters and most importantly spending precious time with their grandchildren.

Gary was a lifelong collector and especially enjoyed political buttons. He was a member of APIC and Irem Temple Shrine. He proudly held the distinction of being a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Albert, Robert, and David; and his sisters, Emma Mulesky, Ann Ducchesci, Sherry Huth, also Miriam and Marianna as children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his daughters, Renee Daniele, Sherry Marchesini, and Michelle Locastro (Billy Mattioli); his sister, Ann Cummings (Michael); his brother in law, Peter Huth; and his sister in law, Marion Turkson.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Marco Daniele (Lauren), Maria Daniele (Kevin Truitt), Anthony Pitts (Sarah), Gary Donahue, and Gabriela Locastro Davis (Cullen). His greatest joy continued with his great- grandchildren, Arlo, Enzo, Enna ,and Sophie who brought love in his later years.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who cared for Gary throughout his illness. A very special thank you goes to his wonderful neighbors, Robbie, Deb, Shannon, Rick, and their children whose kindness, friendship and support meant so much to Gary and his family.

His life was long, his love was deep, and his memory will remain forever in our hearts.
