Gary Lee Vincent, age 84, resident of Collierville, Tennessee, departed this life on June 13, 2025 at Foxbridge Senior Living in Memphis, Tennessee.
Gary was born on June 6, 1941 in La Porte City, Iowa, the son of the late Jake Royal Vincent and Mildred Dage Vincent. He graduated from La Porte City High School in 1958 and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959-1964, assisting in communications. He was employed as a data specialist, having pioneered the beginning stages of computer technology.
Gary was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Tennessee and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trips to the mountains. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and loved 1955-1957 Chevy’s and Corvettes. Gary will be remembered for being a proud and loving father.
Mr. Vincent is survived by his two sons, Ron Vincent (Ilenia) of Eads, TN and Shannon Vincent (Lauren) of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Louise Conklin (Melvin Gardner) or Waterloo, IA and Cheryl Wilson (Gary) of Ladora, IA; three grandchildren, Dustin Vincent of Bartlett, TN, Jessi Vincent of Springfield, MO, and Bodee Vincent, of Kansas City, MO; and four great-grandchildren, Brody, Nola, Cade, and Everett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laurine Guyer and two brothers, Craig Vincent and James Vincent.
A private interment will be in Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA and in West View Cemetery in La Porte, IA at a later date.
