Georgia Ann (Crum) Stewart

March 31, 1942 — December 3, 2023

Somerville, Tennessee

Our dear, sweet, thoughtful, generous wife and mother, Georgia Ann Stewart, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023 at the age of 81. She was a wonderful wife and mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and leaves a legacy of five children, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ann was born March 31, 1942 in Marks, Mississippi, the daughter of the late George Washington Crum and Ola Marie Glidewell Crum. She was married on October 6, 1972 to Garland Stewart. She was a homemaker throughout her life and had been a resident of Somerville since 2008. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Easthill Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee and enjoyed gardening and feeding her pet ducks. She loved spending time with her husband and anything involving her children and grandchildren.

The memories of the love she poured on others through her thoughtfulness and joyful presence will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. We are comforted by the thought that she is with the Lord and Savior as well as her sister, Johnie May, her brother, Jimmy Crum and two grandsons, Stevie and Hayden.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband of 51 years, Garland Stewart; five children, Barbara Cox (Stephone), Cathy Oswalt, Lisa Sparks (Jeff), Kenny Armstrong (Debbie) and William Stewart (Krissy); two sisters, Ruby Spencer and Shirley Smith; two brothers, Charlie Crum and Roger Crum; eight grandchildren, Dawn, Christi, Ashley, Johnny, Casey, Chelsea, Davis and Andrew; sixteen great-grandchildren, Maizy, Hunter, Gabriel, Cortlin, Georgia, John-Michael, Hannah, Carson, Asher, June, Amelia, Brock, Liam, Logan, Waylon and Mason; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kolbie and Kendal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Johnie May Bumpas; her brother, Jimmy Crum; and two grandsons, Stephone “Stevie” Cox and William Hayden Oswalt.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Stewart were held at 1 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Bro. Finley Cutshaw, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, will be officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Gabriel Roberson, Cortlin Roberson, Johnny Oswalt, Jr., Donny Stewart, Andrew Stewart and Davis Stewart.
