Gina Marie Hughey Anthony, age 62, of Kirk, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026. For 41 years, Gina shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, Edward F. Anthony Sr. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and the farm they cherished. Some of their happiest moments were spent side by side caring for their cattle—checking, feeding, vaccinating, and celebrating the arrival of each new calf. Gina also found great joy in raising flowers and shrubs and had a special love for all of God’s creatures, especially cats, dogs and cows.
Gina was known for her remarkable work ethic. No matter how tired she was or how difficult the task, she worked until the job was done. Above all, she was a true caregiver who always put the needs of others before her own. Her family and friends knew they could always count on her love, strength, guidance, and unwavering support. She lived a life of kindness, humility, compassion, and quiet service, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Gina is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Edward F. Anthony Sr.; her loving daughter, Mary Beth Gammel; her sister, Kim Cornish of Fayetteville, Tennessee; her grandson, John Weston Gammel; her stepson, Edward F. Anthony Jr.; her stepdaughter, Rhonda Hodges; and her step-grandchildren, Robert Allen Anthony, Morgan Anthony, Meghan Anthony, Reed Hodges, and Savannah Hodges.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Hughey and Judith Ann Hughey, and her sister, Sharon Jones.
Though Gina’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in knowing she has entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the cornerstone of the family, and while she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, kindness, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be forever loved, never forgotten, and joyfully reunited with her Savior.
