Gwenyth Irene Hromada, age 79, departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Gwenyth was born in Richmond, California, on October 12, 1946, the daughter of Warren Leroy Acker and Gladys Josephin Richerson. She attended Monroe High School in North Hills, California and graduated in 1964. Gwenyth was a member of the Girls Athletic Club and lettered in volleyball. She pursued her education at California State University at Northridge, obtaining her Associate Degree there.
Gwenyth married Joseph Kenneth Hromada on February 6, 1988. They attended Shepards Community Church in Canoga Park, California.
She worked as an Accounting Manager in the aerospace industry.
Mrs. Hromada enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a giving person and was always willing to help others. She had a love and passion for music. She also enjoyed weaving on the loom.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph, of Mason, Tennessee; two daughters, Brenda Lavoie (Scott) of Napa Valley, California, and Jennifer Karr of Mason, Tennessee; three sons, Keith Hromada (Sandy) of Granby, Connecticut, Jim Hromada of El Cajon, California, and Kenneth Hromada (Peggy) of Gilbert, Arizona; one sister, Frances Morgan (Kevin) of Brush Prairie, Washington; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Alan, Tyler, Cole, RJ, Mary, Bradley, and Carter; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Alena, Logan, Clara, Evelyn, Landon, and Cameron.
Mrs. Hromada was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Gladys Richerson Acker; one brother, Robert Acker; and her grandson, Justin.
Services for Mrs. Hromada will be Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cordova with Pastor Keith Harwell officiating. A visitation will be from 1 to 2 at the Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at the Morning Sun Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorials can be given to Samaritans Purse in memory of Gwenyth.
