Helen Faye DeVore

Faye Bowling DeVore, 71, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on December 13, 1954, in Somerville, Tennessee. Faye graduated from Rossville Christian Academy.

Faye lived a simple life rooted in faith, family, and farming. She found joy outdoors, especially tending to her garden, where she cultivated not only flowers and vegetables, but also lasting memories with those she loved. She enjoyed sharing vegetables from her garden with friends and family.

Known for her hardworking spirit, kindness, and gentle wisdom, Faye found happiness in simple pleasures and time spent with family. She adored hosting Thanksgiving dinner for many years in her home.

She is survived by her devoted son, Sam DeVore; her daughter-in-law, Angie; her treasured grandson, James DeVore, his wife, Cassie, and grand dog, Chip. In addition, her brother, Allen Bruce Bowling and sister, Tannis Pleasants (Sammy), and nine nieces and nephews

Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. DeVore, her parents, T.W. and Bruce Goldie Bowling, and her sister-in-law, Linda Bowling.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Visitation from 12-2 pm.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the garden she nurtured and the family she loved so dearly.
