James Harold “Jim” Smothers, age 81, resident of Oakland and husband of Carol Odom Smothers, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services for Mr. Smothers will be at 3 Wednesday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mr. Smothers will be from 1 until 3 Wednesday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
