James Terry Morrow, age 69, passed away suddenly at his home on the morning of January 26, 2026.
Terry was born on November 30, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of David Russell Morrow and Mary Ethel Locke Morrow. He was raised in Fayette County, Tennessee, where he continued to live throughout his life.
Terry was married to his beloved wife, Delia Morrow, for nearly 27 years. Together they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. He was a proud father to three daughters: Amanda Benner (Mark) of Arlington, Tennessee; Kimberly Morrow (Michelle) of Vallejo, California; and Hannah Morrow of Dallas, Texas. He was also a devoted stepfather to Lucille Govar of Oakland, Tennessee, and Josh Curland (Becca) of Humboldt, Tennessee.
Above all else, Terry’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, and his love for them was evident to everyone who knew him. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Zachary (Zach), Lillian, Rebecca, Jayden, Brynlee, Isaiah, and Samuel. The memories they shared and the life lessons he passed on will be forever treasured.
Terry spent most of his career working on heavy equipment. He worked for many years with HeavyEquip in Memphis and also provided his skills to numerous individuals over the years.
Terry was blessed with lifelong friends and extended family and was always willing to help anyone in a time of need. A quiet man until you got to know him, he was known for sharing stories and his warm, happy laugh with those closest to him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and also loved to call people by nicknames he would give them.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Terry is survived by two brothers, John Barry Morrow and Donnie Steve Morrow. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gerald Russell Morrow and Howison Wayne Morrow.
Terry will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man whose presence brought comfort, strength, and love to those around him. His sudden passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
Flowers are welcome, or donations may be directed to American Heart Association.
Lovingly written by the family to honor a life well lived.
