Jeffrey Trezevant deGraffenried Jr., age 57, resident of Somerville, TN, departed this life Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026 at his home.
Jeffrey was born on October 31, 1968 in Memphis, TN, the son of Jeffrey Trezevant deGraffenried Sr. and Betty Elmore deGraffenried. He attended Bartlett High School and was employed by Delta Airlines as a ground crew operator.
At the age of 23, Jeffrey accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on July 24, 1991. Founding Pastor Teddy Steele baptized him on July 28, 1991 at Eastside Baptist Church in Barlett, TN.
Jeffrey will be remembered for the love he had for “Blondie”, writing poetry and always had a will to help others in need. Jeffrey was a proud uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He was also an avid golfer and an Elvis fan. One of his favorite past times was being “Jelvis” where he impersonated Elvis.
Mr. deGraffenried is survived by his sister Nyletta A. Mosher (Dan) of Oakland, TN; his brother, Michael Anthony deGraffenried (Tami) of Holly Springs, MS; his beloved nieces, Stephanie Anderson (Kelly) of Austin, TX, Jennifer Malone (Casey) of Farmington, NM, Christi Dredge (Shane) of Memphis, TN, Amanda Bearden of Kimberling City, MO, Nyletta Pecora (Chris) of Venetia, PA, Holly Brazil (Mike) of Corinth, MS; and his nephews, Ricky Cota of Greenville, SC and Phillip deGraffenried (Amy) of Bolivar, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his common law wife, Susan Burlison; one brother, Johnny Cota; one niece, Candace Cota; and one nephew, Johnny Cota Jr.
Services will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Dismore, Kelvin Anderson, Dan Mosher, Joshua Watts, Dickie Elmore and Michael deGraffenried.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association , 1661 International Drive, Suite 400, Memphis, TN 38120, because of the love he had for his Mother.
