Jon William Bullock Hurdle

Jon William Bullock Hurdle, age 25, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Friday morning, June 13, 2025 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jon was born July 21, 1999 in Memphis, the son of Jon Marc Hurdle and Nancy Cannon Hurdle. He graduated from Fayette-Ware High School in Somerville and was a dedicated employee who loved his job at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Somerville where he worked for five years. He could work on anything and was the “family mechanic”, although his hands were so big he had to call in help sometimes. Jon loved his nieces and nephews, but his truck ran a close second. He had a loving and big heart. His heart was bigger than him… he was a true “gentle giant”.

Jon is survived by his parents, Jon Marc Hurdle and Nancy Cannon Hurdle; his grandparents, Martha “Granny” Cannon and Toby “Pappy” Cannon; two sisters, Elizabeth Vaden (Justin) and Sophie Hurdle; three brothers, Nathan Burns (Danielle), Gabe Hurdle (Whitney) and Jeffery Hurdle; his wife, Tesla Nichole Hurdle; two aunts, Linda Suzy Adair (David) and Jennifer Farris; his uncle, Larry Cannon; and his nieces and nephews (that he referred to as his babies), Averi, Toby, Jerry, Calvin, Hayden, Grayson and Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Biddie and Mable Hurdle; his aunt, Teresa Cannon; and two uncles, Jeffrey Bullock and Levi Cannon.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hurdle were held at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Remarks were given by Jody Vaughan. Interment followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the District 15 Community of Fayette County.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Andrew Cannon, James Cannon, Nathan Burns, Chris Hasty, Patrick Herron, Bradley Hubbard, Andrew Voyles and Thomas McElwee. Honorary pallbearers were Gabe Hurdle, Jeffrey Hurdle, Sophie Hurdle, Nick Brown and Cheryl Cannon.
