Kathleen Gloria Wilson
1930-2026
Kathleen Gloria Wilson, lovingly known as “Meemaw,” passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2026, at the age of 95.
In her early teens, Kathleen became a Christian and made a lifelong commitment to follow the Lord, a faith that guided her life and sustained her throughout the years. She had a servant’s heart and always put her family first. As a young girl, she attended Millington High School and later pursued vocational college, where she learned shorthand and developed strong secretarial skills that reflected her diligence and attention to detail.
Kathleen was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. She married Linville Quay Wilson on June 8, 1952, and together they shared more than sixty years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Kathleen held several secretarial positions over the years, but she especially loved her work as the attendance secretary at Memphis Hebrew Academy, where she served faithfully for nearly twenty years and was known for her care, reliability, and warm presence. After moving to Rossville, Kathleen began working as the town clerk. She later worked as a jewelry merchandiser, continuing to work well into her early eighties—an example of her strong work ethic and independence.
She expressed her faith and creativity through many talents. Kathleen loved sewing and quilting, played the piano, sang faithfully in her church choir, and was an avid painter. She was also a gifted songwriter, becoming a published songwriter at the age of sixteen. Her creativity was a source of joy to her family and a blessing to those around her.
Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Diane Wilson Fletcher and Sandra Lynn Wilson; her grandchildren, Jonathan Paul Fletcher (Lane) and Elesa Marie Potter (Scott); seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linville Quay Wilson; her parents, Joe and Irene McKinney; her sisters, Maxine Skaggs (John) and Faye Smith (Bill); her brothers, Joe McKinney (Sara) and John Eldridge McKinney; and her sons-in law, William Edward Fletcher and Gregory Mahoney.
A graveside visitation will be held on January 13, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., with a service immediately following at 1:00 p.m., at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rossville Church Missions, located at 340 Main Street, Rossville, TN 38066.
She will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is in her eternal home.
