Lanelle Rhea

Lanelle McClure Rhea, age 75, resident of Moscow, Tennessee, and wife of the late Danny Lee Rhea, departed this life on Wednesday morning, December 17, 2025. Lanelle was born on December 16, 1950 to the late John McClure and Laura Rigsby McClure. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church her entire life. She taught Sunday school and Awana and was a choir member as long as she can remember. She also sang in a trio with her niece, Virginia Owens, and cousin, Joann Allen, since they were twelve. She also had a green thumb and loved her flowers. While she was able, she kept them beautiful!Upon finishing high school in 1968, she attended Enrii School of Beauty. After, she was employed with Lillian Boswell and Janet Leatherwood for almost 20 years. Due to health reasons, she then went into the medical field until retiring. Lanelle is survived by her caregiver and daughter, Amy Crisp (John); Son, Terry Rhea (David) of Seattle, WA; her beloved grandson, Gabriel Mitchell Crisp; one brother, James McClure (Kaye); one sister, Dolly Rhea; and beloved dog, Rosie.In addition to her parents, Lanelle was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Rhea, sisters Sally Miller and Katie Byrd, and three brothers, Carl McClure, Danny McClure, and Joe McClure.She leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services for Ms. Rhea will be on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 12 noon at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, TN, with interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Moscow, TN. Visitations for Ms. Rhea will be from 5-8 on Sunday evening, December 21st, at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland, as well as before services from 10-12 on Monday, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
