Le"Roy" Albert Titus, age 84, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, was born in Liberty Grove, Wisconsin. He entered the United States Navy in June, 1956 and was honorably discharged February, 1960. Soon after, he moved to the Chicago, Illinois area where he became foreman for a chemical company. Seven years later, he became a police officer near Chicago. Even though he lived in Chicago, but being from Wisconsin, from childhood he was a GREEN BAY PACKERS FAN!!
In 1975, he moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas and was employed as Credit Manager for a large utility company. After his marriage to Sue Ollar on June 6, 1988, they moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he and his wife became local Regional Supervisors for an investment company based in California until their retirement in 2006. After moving to Fayette County in 2007, Roy and his wife joined Oakland First Baptist Church where he became an active member for many years. He worked at Wal-Mart in Oakland for six years after moving to Oakland.
Mr. Titus is survived by his wife, Sue, of 35 years. He also leaves two children, son, Scott Titus of Spiro, OK; daughter, Treasi Harris (Dick) of Royse City, TX; two stepsons, Troy Ollar (Kim) of Collierville, TN and Paul Ollar of Southaven, MS; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, William, Franklin, Raymond and John; and two sisters, Barbara and Pearl.
Funeral Services for Mr. Titus were held at 11 A.M. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Carl Doyle officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Troy Ollar, Paul Ollar, Rudy Doyle, Dan Jackson, Keith Jones and Jacob Ollar.
