Martin Seward

Leon Martin Seward, age 83, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Linda Seward, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Martin was born November 30, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Leon Allison Seward and Lois Martin Seward. He graduated from Bolton High School in 1959 and was married September 22, 1961 to Linda Reid Seward. Martin was an electrician and vending machine operator for many years and was also employed in Canteen Merchandising for 42 years before his retirement.

Martin was a member of Kirk Baptist Church near Collierville and he was a devoted husband, daddy and grandad who loved his grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed spending time on the farm raising cows, hunting, fishing and golfing.

Mr. Seward is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda Seward of Eads, TN; his daughter, Renee Davenport (Richard) of Bartlett, TN; his son, Marty Seward (Stephanie) of Eads, TN; three sisters, Carol Alberson of Somerville, TN, Diane Lowrey (Gary) of Arlington, TN and Ginger Lindsey of Lakeland, TN; three grandchildren, Shelbi Seward of Kansas City, MO, Zachary Seward of Eads, TN and Madison Seward of Eads, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mr. Seward will be from 10 A.M. to 12 noon Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Danny Spurlock of Kirk Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Reid Cemetery at Eads.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jay Lindsey, Benjamin Rook, Judd Lindsey, Homer Daniels, Mitchell Alberson and Howard Kruse. Honorary pallbearers will include Richard Davenport and Scott Harris.
