Mary Sue Dismuke, of Hickory Withe, Tennessee, born January 7, 1939, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2025. Sue was a model in her younger years and trained young ladies for beauty pageants. After modeling, Sue worked for Kellogg's and made many friends over her 27 years until her retirement. After retirement, Sue volunteered as a chaplain at Regional Medical Center saving many souls for Jesus and was a constant witness for the Lord.
Sue loved her savior, Jesus, her family, and friends. She was handy with tools and loved remodeling her home which she did numerous times over the years, She loved working in her yard and maintaining her 5 acres.
Left behind to remember her and mourn her loss are her son, Malcolm B. Dismuke, Jr. (Paula) of Olive Branch, MS; her longtime friend who was like her brother, Herbert Howell of Arlington, TN; her sisters, Shirley Loftin Bell (Ross) and Zell Loftin Mitchell (Robert Hugh); five grandchildren, Erin Ison (Tony), Stephanie Dismuke, Matthew Dismuke (Sara), Jeffrey Heskett (Kristen), and Holly Dover (Aaron); ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other friends considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fuller Lee Loftin and Annie Hood Loftin; her brothers, Henry Loftin, Charles Loftin, and Elvin Loftin; and her sisters, Dorothy Loftin Lawrence, Lillian Loftin Jones, Betty Loftin Grady and Jonnie Dean Martin.
Funeral Services for Ms. Dismuke were held at 1 P.M. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Billy Ferguson officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Matthew Dismuke, Tony Ison, Jeffery Heskett, Aaron Dover, Chuck Bell and Brian Bell.
