Mary Lynn Campbell Wright, age 99, resident of Jackson, Tennessee and wife of the late James O. Wright, departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2025. She died peacefully at her home with family.
Mary was born January 2, 1926 in Sharon, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Guy and Bernice Wells Campbell. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Charlotte Laws and Kent Wright; her brothers, Gerald Campbell, Dale Campbell and Robert Campbell; and her sisters, Joyce Perkins, Ruth Smith and Jean Mathis. Mary was the oldest of five girls in the family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Janice Barnes (Larry) of Jackson, TN and John Keith Wright of Jackson, TN; her sister, Norma Jackson of Memphis, TN; her grandchildren, Christie Bradley (King) of Medina, TN, Kevin Laws (Amber) of Monroe, GA, Stephen Wright (Traci) of Cordova, TN and Kellan Wright of Huntingdon, TN; and her great-grandchildren, Brennan Bradley of Dallas, TX, Hayden Bradley of Jackson, TN, River Bradley of Medina, TN, Micah Wright of Cordova, TN, Bailey Grace Laws of Monroe, GA, Clayton Laws of Monroe, GA and Emery Laws of Monroe, GA.
She was retired from the Somerville Courthouse in Somerville, Tennessee. Mary was a member of Forest Heights United Methodist Church and was a former member of Somerville United Methodist Church where her husband was the pastor for five years. Mary was a very talented pianist and organist who enjoyed playing for special events. She will be remembered for being a patient and kind person who took each day one day at a time.
A visitation for Ms. Wright will be from 12 noon until 1 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2025 at Somerville Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2025 at Somerville Methodist Church with Rev. Drew Brewer and Rev. Russell Gallimore officiating. Special music will be provided by Phyllis Holt. Interment will follow in Tansil Cemetery in Sharon, Tennessee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kellan Wright, Stephen Wright, Brennan Bradley, Hayden Bradley, River Bradley and Kevin Laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Forest Heights United Methodist Church, 863 W. Forest Avenue, Jackson, TN 38301.
