Nancy Jo Teague Leggett of Moscow was received by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, following complications after surgery. Nancy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Donnie Leggett; her two sons, Jonathan Mark Morgan and Brannon Dallas Morgan (Carla); and her goddaughter, Valencia Spears (and her mother, Oretha).
The daughter of the late Marcus Chambers Teague and Annie Dortha Wade Teague, Nancy was born on June 29, 1948, in Somerville, TN, the first of five children. After graduating from Fayette County High School, Nancy graduated from the University of Tennessee with a certificate in radiology technology and later from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree. She worked for more than 40 years in radiology at Memphis hospitals and clinics and served as director of radiology at St. Francis Hospital and at Park Avenue Diagnostic Center.
Devoted member of Moscow Wesleyan Methodist Church and relentless prayer warrior, Nancy enjoyed music, reading, travel, golf, and bridge. She lovingly tended her flower garden, fondly remembering the family members and friends who had given her special plants. With her servant’s heart, Nancy devoted years to founding and managing of the Moscow Food Pantry, later incorporated as Feeding Fayette. Most recently, she organized the Coffee and Conversation for the Women of Moscow.
Teague family matriarch, Nancy organized reunions, game nights, holiday dinners, sibling dinners, and trips. Pond time was her favorite pastime. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Marcus Teague, Edward Martin Teague and J. W. (Jim) Brown. Surviving siblings include her sister, Ouida Teague Crisp (Bobby) and brother, William Frank Teague (Lisa), sisters-in-law, Sue Teague and Connie Brown, and brother-in-law, Clifford Murigan. She is also survived by grandsons, Ryland Ford and Luke Dallas Morgan; nephews, Michael Crisp (Katy), Daniel Crisp (Jennifer), and Kevin Teague (Jessica); nieces, Lauren Teague (Hunter), Ashleigh Earnest, Michelle McDonald, and Emily Brown; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the James Teague Family Scholarship Endowment with checks made payable to the UT Foundation and mailed to the University of Tennessee Office of Foundations, 1900 Alumni Way, Dunagan Alumni Center, Martin, TN 38238.
