Nona Lee Taylor, age 97, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at River Wick Assisted Living with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 25, 1929, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, to the late Robert Lee Walls and Labada Adlee Todd Walls. Ms. Taylor was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Somerville for more than 47 years. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she especially treasured the years she spent serving in the church nursery, where she lovingly cared for and nurtured generations of children.

Ms. Nona found great joy in the simple things in life. She loved sewing, crocheting, quilting, canning vegetables from her garden, and cooking for her family and others. She enjoyed collecting hummingbirds and ceramic angels, treasures that reflected her appreciation for beauty and the things that brought her happiness.

Those who knew Ms. Taylor will remember her most for her giving heart and genuine love for people. She had an infectious smile and a special way of making everyone feel cared for. It was said that you never met Nona without her asking how you were doing. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need, never expecting anything in return. Her kindness, warmth, and compassion touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Danielson (Michael) and Bonnie Byrd (Johnny).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert A. Taylor; two sisters, Byrdnett Pettit and Gladys Washington; three brothers, Curtis Todd, Wilburn Walls, and Hess Walls; and her adored son-in-law, Michael Danielson.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Somerville, Tennessee.
