Paul William Funk, age 60, was born June 14, 1966 in Drexel Hill, PA and passed away in Eads, TN on June 19, 2026.

Paul was a loving husband, devoted Dad, proud Papa and a man whose kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His greatest joy was his family. He loved bragging about them, sharing photos of his granddaughters and celebrating the people he loved most. His family was his pride and his greatest blessing.

Paul was a highly respected Sr. Cybersecurity Network Engineer whose intelligence, dedication and commitment to excellence defined his professional life. He was a trusted expert in protecting and securing complex systems, bringing years of technical knowledge, certifications and a passion for solving challenging problems. His colleagues at ISOS will miss him deeply.

Paul had a rare gift of making people feel welcomed and accepted. He never judged others and made those around him feel seen and heard. He was dependable in the way that makes people feel held. He was knowledgeable without arrogance. He never sought recognition for the things he did; he simply showed up because that was who he was. He was open-minded, playful, loyal, and kind-hearted. Children and animals naturally gravitated toward him. He was the kind of person who, once in your life, you stop noticing because you've assumed he'll always be there. And then he isn't, and the absence is enormous.

Throughout his cancer journey, Paul showed incredible strength, faith, and courage. He was never afraid. He believed that his life was in God’s hands, even when the path did not make sense to those around him. He often reminded loved ones that this was not the end and they would be together again. His greatest sadness was not leaving this world, but leaving behind his wife and the family he loved so deeply.

In his final moments, Paul was surrounded by his wife and sons. He left this world knowing he was dearly cherished and that his life had made an immeasurable difference.

Paul’s legacy will live on through the love he gave, the memories he created and the family he treasured so dearly. Though he is deeply missed, those who knew him find comfort in knowing that his faith was strong, his love was everlasting, and this is not goodbye – it is only until they meet again.

Paul was the 2nd of five children born to William Henry Funk and Dorothy Mary Sinyard Funk. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Sean and his mother, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Hollingsworth-Funk, of Eads, TN, sons John Michael Partain of Eads, TN, and Daniel Partain (Ling) of Lakeland, TN, father, William Funk (Mary) of Mason, TN, sisters Suzanne Funk of Stirling, Ontario, Colleen Funk Murray of East Hants, Nova Scotia, brothers Mark Funk (Colleen) of Eads, TN, Parish Whitfield and Richard Tribble of Mason, TN. Granddaughters JoJo and Piper Partain of Lakeland, TN and many nieces, nephews and friends upon whose lives he left an indelible mark.

Though we’ve lost a treasure, Heaven has gained one.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
