Raymond Garcia Jr., age 86, of Moscow, Tennessee, passed away on March 11, 2026. Raymond was born on April 12, 1939, in Key West, Florida to Raymond Garcia Sr. and Lily Santana Garcia. He lived a life defined by service to his country, his community, and his family.

Raymond proudly served in the United States Army before dedicating many years of his life to law enforcement as a police officer. After a long and honorable career protecting and serving others, he retired from the police force. On May 8, 1977, he married his beloved wife, Linda Simmons Garcia. They enjoyed a wonderful life together until her death on December 6, 2018.

Raymond is survived by his children: Richard Garcia; Raelynn Garcia Houston and her husband Ken; Raymond Garcia Ill; and Debra Hurst. He also leaves behind a loving legacy through his grandchildren: Jordan Harper, Madison Coombs, Gabriella Coombs, Ryan Garcia, Rachel Brake, Derrick Rose, Cori Henley, and Glenn Henley. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Chandler Ihrie, Avery Garcia, Mason Garcia, Wyatt Brake, Savannah Brake, Theodore Rose, Eleanor Rose, Skylar Henley, Kylan Lytle, and Jayden Lytle. In addition to that wonderful legacy, he is also survived by his sister, Lena Smallbone and his nieces, Gina Tompkins and Carla Southcott. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Raymond will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his years of service to both his country and his community, and the many lives he touched throughout his life. His presence, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for Mr. Garcia will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2 PM at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Stan Smith, Pastor at First Baptist Church in Somerville, TN. A visitation for Mr. Garcia will be from 12 noon until 2 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment with military honors will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Moscow, TN.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Ken Crawford, Ricky Wilson, John Shelton, Jason Bivens, Greg Reeves, and Joe Long.
