Renee Hugh Wheeler, age 65, resident of Lakeland, Tennessee, departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mrs. Wheeler was born on March 4, 1961, to Franklin D. Mask and Peggy Joyce Milner Mask. She graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School in Memphis, Tennessee, with the Class of 1979. On August 3, 1979, she married the love of her life, Michael "Mike" Wheeler, at Egypt Baptist Church in Memphis. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, and were faithful members of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee, for more than 25 years.

Renee was the proud owner and operator of Sunbury's Gifts and Collectibles for over ten years, where her warm personality and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the door. She possessed a servant's heart and was known for her generous spirit, never meeting a stranger and always putting others before herself.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. Affectionately known as "Nay Nay" to her six grandchildren, she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, especially working puzzles, sharing laughter, and creating cherished memories. She also found great joy rocking babies in the church nursery, reflecting the nurturing love she freely gave to everyone around her.

Renee enjoyed playing and watching softball, following NASCAR, bird watching, cooking and baking for family and friends, and especially celebrating Christmas. Decorating her home for the holiday season brought her immense happiness and became one of the many traditions her family will forever cherish.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 47 years, Mike Wheeler of Arlington, Tennessee; her mother, Peggy Mask of Somerville, Tennessee; one daughter, Lauren Wheeler (James) of Lakeland, Tennessee; one son, Steven Wheeler (Megan) of Decatur, Arkansas; three sisters, Deanna Davidson of Lakeland, Tennessee, Leslie Ward (Kevin) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Susan Mask of Somerville, Tennessee; six beloved grandchildren, Braden, Hudson, Chloe, Aubrie, Maddox, and Derek; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin D. Mask; her grandmother, Mildred Doles; and her grandfather, Howard Farris.

Renee's kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle heart, welcoming smile, and selfless nature left an enduring mark on countless lives.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

In accordance with her wishes, services for Mrs. Wheeler will be private.
