Richard Leonard Pulliam, age 87, resident of Piperton, Tennessee and husband of Carol Chapman Pulliam passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to Gladys Devera Kelley Pulliam and Leonard Clyde Pulliam.
Dick graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1958 and began a 35 year career with Sears, Roebuck and Co. He was the manager of the Memphis Credit Central from 1972 until its closing in 1990. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and field trialing with his beloved Brittanys and Tennessee Walking Horses. Dick was proudest of his Brittany Grand Junction Jake which was inducted into the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame. He had been active in Quail Unlimited, the Volunteer Brittany Club and the American Brittany Club. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Bird Dog Foundation.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn Forbes Pulliam and his sister, Doris Pulliam Lowe. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughter, Patti Sandage, sons, Richard and Kenneth, and three grandchildren.
