Richard Lee Schwam
August 16, 1920 — June 1, 2015
Richard Lee Schwam, age 94, departed this life Monday evening, June 1, 2015 at the Grace Healthcare Center in Cordova.
Mr. Schwam was born August 16, 1920, in Cordova, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Schwam and Jennie Poston Schwam. They raised him as the youngest of seven sons and four daughters all now deceased.
Mr. Schwam is survived by numerous relatives. A member of Cordova Presbyterian Church, Richard loved his dogs and horses and was well-known by many as the elderly man frequently seen on horseback in the Cordova vicinity. Special thanks are given to a family friend, Ann Chapman, who gave Richard much love and support in his final years. The family is also appreciative of the care given by staff personnel at both Grace Healthcare and Crossroads Hospice.
