Robert Thomas Foy
February 2, 1990 – February 3, 2026
Robert Thomas Foy, age 36, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1990, and lived a life marked by deep faith, gentleness, and a sincere love for others.
Robert lived his entire life with Addison’s disease and was later diagnosed with X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Though his body endured significant suffering, Robert faced each season with quiet strength, grace, and unwavering trust in the Lord. We find peace in knowing that he is now fully healed, restored, and whole in the presence of Jesus.
Robert loved the Lord with his whole heart and dedicated much of his life to teaching and sharing the truth of Scripture. He loved his church family at Lifeline Baptist Church and was an active member there. He graduated from Rossville Christian Academy and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Blue Mountain College. He was the founder of GenTruth Ministries, where he taught biblical creation and encouraged others to engage deeply with God’s Word. Robert taught classes at his church and spoke at numerous schools and churches, always pointing others to Christ with humility and love.
He was thoughtful, gentle, and deeply kind, known for his tender spirit and the way he made others feel heard and cared for. Those who knew him remember his warmth, his curiosity, and his quiet joy.
Robert had a natural way of connecting with people, often through the things he loved. He enjoyed imaginative stories like Star Wars and The Hobbit, science fiction, and Jurassic Park; all that stemmed from his love of the natural world, dinosaurs, and paleontology. He also had a great love for sports—especially the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Braves, and University of Kentucky basketball. These interests were simple ways he made others feel comfortable, welcomed, and known.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rachel Foy; his parents, Thomas and Susan Foy; his sisters, Cassie (Dustin) Greer and Shellie Foy; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Ruby Gregory, Harvey Gregory, Nova Greer, Ruby Greer, Mack Greer, Beau Greer; along with many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 8, from 3:00–5:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, at 1:00 PM.
Both services will take place at Peebles West Funeral Home, 10670 US-64, Somerville, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to give to do so in one of the following ways: donations may be made to Lifeline Baptist Church, where Robert was a faithful member, or to support medical care for his nephew, Beau Greer, who has also been diagnosed with X-linked ALD. Contributions for Beau may be made at the Bank of Fayette County in an account established in Beau Greer’s name. A GoFundMe is also set up and shared for those who prefer to give online.
While we grieve deeply, we do not grieve without hope. Robert finished his race faithfully, and we rejoice knowing he is with Jesus—free from pain and fully restored. His life, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to point others to Christ.
Lovingly written by the family to honor a life well lived.
