Robert Benjamin Hill

Robert Benjamin Hill, age 66, resident of Oakland, TN, departed this life on May 28, 2026. He was born in Columbia, TN on February 17, 1960, to William H. “Sonny” Hill and Faye Minor Hill.

Robert attended Columbia High School and graduated in 1978. He also attended Columbia State University and Middle Tennessee State University. Robert later retired as a truck driver for Nabisco where he was employed for many years. On August 11, 1997, he married the love of his life, Patty Boutwell Hill.

Robert was an avid Penn State football fan. He enjoyed fishing and boxing. He will be remembered as a practical prankster. Robert also had a double black belt in karate. His favorite past times were spending time on the beach in Florida with his family.

Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Patty Hill of Oakland, TN; two daughters, Shellie Finch of Williston, TN and Sarah Hill; his mother, Faye Hill of Columbia, TN; one sister, Nan Hawkins (Steve) of Cookville, TN; one brother, Mark Hill (Julie) of Athens, AL; one grandchild, Kylie Finch and his beloved dogs, “Lucy” and “Hank”.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his father, W.H. “Sonny” Hill.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Hill will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Eddie J. Miller officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at a later date and will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be Normann LaCaden, Jim Henderson, John Lewallen, Jerry Browning, Steve Hawkins and Harry Williams.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude, Ronald McDonald House, LeBonheur or a pet rescue group of the donor’s choice.
