Listen to Obituary

Robert “Woody” Haywood Reece, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, passed away on September 3, 2026, following a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 66 years old.

Woody was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Haywood Owen, and his brother, Jerry Reece.

He leaves behind the love of his life and his wife of 44 years, Pam Reece. He is also survived by his children, Angela Sells (Jason) and Robert Reece (Michelle); his grandchildren, Dylan, Amelia, Jacob, Brayden, Reece, Lane, Aubrey, and Garrison; and his brother, Greg Reece (Kim).

Woody had a deep love and respect for nature and animals, finding joy and peace in the outdoors and in the simple beauty of the world around him. He was a loyal friend who treasured the relationships he built throughout his life. Many of those friends became like family, and the time he spent with them was among his greatest joys. He loved spending time with his family and friends, golfing, grilling, and cheering on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Woody was known for his integrity and stoic nature, along with his quick wit, remarkable knowledge of trivia, and love of music. He had a way of making people laugh, sharing a piece of knowledge, or simply being there when it mattered.

Woody was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville, Tennessee. A devoted follower of Christ, he held firmly to his faith and was never afraid to stand up for what he believed. His faith, like his character, was rooted in conviction, loyalty, and integrity.

Above all, Woody was devoted to the people he loved. His 44-year marriage to Pam was a testament to the love, loyalty, and companionship they shared throughout their lives together. His family was his greatest source of pride, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.
