Robert "Bob" Foster

Robert Houston Foster (Bob) passed away peacefully in his home on December 15, 2022 at the age of 93. He was surrounded by family with a deep bond of love before and around the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by Houston Rice Foster (Father) Ella Robena Wofford Foster (Mother) and Ronald Foster (Brother). He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Foster, 2 sons, Don (Cynthia) and David (Susan) and 2 daughters, Margie (Tony) and Kathy. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 god grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Bob was born in Ridgely, Tennessee on August 25, 1929. He met and married Dorothy McDaniel, his lifelong friend and wife of 71 years, in Memphis, Tennessee. They married on August 18, 1951. They enjoyed many adventures together through shared hobbies such as lapidary, camping, hiking, and traveling. Their most important bond was their shared love of God. They were charter members of Cherry Road Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee where Bob served as an ordained deacon. Later, the two became members of First Baptist Church of Fisherville, Tennessee. Bob deeply loved his family and extended family and he and Dorothy shared their love of God with family through example and teaching.

Bob graduated from Whitehaven High School in Memphis. He honored his country through his time of service in the US Navy and US Air Force. His work history included South Central Bell, AT&T/Lucent and Federal Express.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church Fisherville. Interment followed in the FBC Fisherville church cemetery. The officiating minister was Dr. Jeff James and remarks were given by Reverend John Bills. Special music was provided by Sarah Bills, pianist.
