Russell Glen Johnson, age 69, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home.
Russell was born on November 27, 1956, to the late James Wilbur Johnson and Hilda Karen Culver Johnson. Russell attended Fayette Ware High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. During his nine years of service, he worked as a Medical Specialist and Environmental Health Specialist. Following his military service, Russell continued his career in healthcare, joining Campbell Clinic where he worked as a cast specialist.
Russell was of the Baptist faith and found enjoyment in many things throughout his life. He had a love for karate and chess, appreciating both the discipline and challenge they offered. He will be remembered for his independent spirit, his service to others, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His beloved dog, Jeter, was also a cherished companion and an important part of his life.
Russell is survived by his brother, Mark Johnson (Tina) of Somerville; three step brothers, Robert Foster, Michael Foster, and Johnny Foster; four step-sisters, Debbie Voyles, Eva Cook, Kathy Riley, and Jeanette Busby; three nephews; Josh Johnson (Olivia), Austin Johnson, Kylan Johnson; and one niece, Amber Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl Johnson; his son, Robert Gene Johnson; his parents; and his faithful companion, Jeter.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Russell will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
