Sherry Lynn Duncan

Sherry Lynn Hampton Duncan, age 71, resident of Oakland, Tennessee, departed this life Monday afternoon, May 19, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Sherry was born March 22, 1954 in Somerville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William Francis Hampton and Mary Pearl Miller Hampton. She graduated from Rossville Academy in 1972 and was a homemaker throughout her life. Sherry was a fantastic dancer who stole the show on the dancefloor every time she walked onto one. She was a member of the Bop Club in Memphis in the 1980’s.

Sherry is survived by her daughter, Deana Morrison (Jack) of Memphis, TN; her son, Christopher Duncan of Bartlett, TN; her sister, JoAnn Hampton of Collierville, TN; her aunt, Flora Scott; two grandchildren, Loren King of Denver, CO and Emily Arangino of Memphis, TN; and her special friend and caregiver, Ronnie Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Hampton.

Graveside Services for Sherry were held at 1 P.M. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Macon Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Holland officiating.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Madonna Learning Center, 7007 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 38138 in honor of Sherry’s son, Christopher Duncan.
