Steven Ward "Steve" Simpson

Steven Ward Simpson, 71, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on 03 Dec 1953, and passed away on 17 May 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a resident of Collierville, Tennessee, and Hickory Valley, Tennessee.

Steve leaves behind a legacy of love and support. He is survived by his two sons, Shea Thomas Simpson (Leigh Ann) and Peyton Lawrence Simpson, his grandson, Sean Thomas Simpson, step-grandson, Samuel Hudson Barnes, his brother, Joe Simpson (Shelton), sister-in-law Kendrick Simpson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bernard Simpson, Sr. and Virginia Ward Thomas, his stepfather, Pierce Thomas, and his brother, John Simpson.

Steve, a loving father and grandfather, found immense strength in his personal relationship with our LORD and SAVlOR JESUS CHRIST. He cherished spending quality time with his family, whether it was enjoying the outdoors with his sons and grandson, sharing stories and memories around the BBQ grill, or engaging in his favorite sports, particularly football. He often reminisced about his fellow teammates from Collierville High School. Steve was deeply grateful for the support and prayers of the Men of Hope Veterans Ministry, and he held onto Philippians 3:13-14, inspiring him to press on toward his goal of winning the prize for which God has called him heavenward in CHRIST JESUS, even though he acknowledged that he had not yet fully grasped it.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 11, 2025, with Visitation from 10-11a.m. and the Service at 11 a.m. at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, West Chapel at Oakland, TN, 10670 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
