Susan Fay Potter, left this world on October 13, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in her hometown of Memphis, TN. She was born on December 25, 1960, to Harold Polk and Emma Estell Sprayberry Polk
Susan was a dedicated professional, serving as an eye technician with Eye Specialty Group for over 20 years. Her loyalty and devotion to her career were unparalleled, and she was admired by both colleagues and patients alike for her unwavering commitment to excellence.
A proud graduate of Kingsbury High School, class of 1978, Susan had a very creative and artistic flair. She often expressed herself through her hobbies, which included gardening and her ever-present love for her pets. One of her favorite pastimes was playing competitive golf with her mother and her bonus dad. These memories, vibrant and joyous, resonate through the stories told by those who knew her best.
Susan is survived by her son, Darren Reim, of Memphis, TN; her bonus daughter, Melanie Potter, of Dyersburg, TN; and her sister, Rachel Crossno (Bob) of Dumfries, VA. The joy of being a grandmother was evident in her deep affection for her two grandchildren, Bailey and Josh Reim. She is also remembered fondly by her dear friend, Bill Bond, and their pets Scooter and Bridget.
Susan was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Harold Polk and Emma Estell Sprayberry Polk, as well as her bonus father, Skeeter Tinnen; two brothers, Thomas Harold Polk and David Harold Polk; and two pets, Spud Bond and Star Bond.
Services for Susan will be at 1 pm, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville, with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. A visitation for Susan will be from 12 noon until 1 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Josh Nine, Stephen Nine, Bob Crossno, Any McNaul, Ricky Seawright and Ryan Seawright. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Sprayberry and Darren Reim.
As we remember Susan Fay Potter, let us carry forward her spirit of dedication, creativity, and above all, love. She touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed, though her memory will forever remain a light in our hearts.
