Listen to Obituary

Tina Mae Houston, born on May 29, 1955, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar, Tennessee.

A proud graduate of Fayette Ware High School in Somerville, TN, Tina embarked on her early career at Troxel in Moscow, Tennessee. She later devoted herself to healthcare, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with NHC in Somerville, Tennessee. Her commitment to caregiving was a testament to her compassionate and nurturing nature. Tina was affectionately known as "Aunt Tiny" by many, a name earned through years of babysitting alongside her mother. Together, they raised a multitude of neighborhood children, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. Her love for family was evident because she was a devoted aunt and friend, remembered warmly for her kindness and generosity.

Her home was shared with her beloved cats, Eastwood and Bella, who brought her endless joy. Tina’s interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She was an admirer of Native American culture, delighting in collecting dream catchers. She enjoyed spending time watching her favorite television shows, including Everybody Loves Raymond, Gunsmoke, and The Andy Griffith Show. These simple pleasures were a reflection of her gentle and thoughtful spirit.

She is survived by a devoted circle of family, including her two nephews, Gerald "Bubba" Morrow, Jr. and Donnie Glen Gammell (Tammy), and three nieces, Tracy Ann Medley (Tommy), Lynn German (Donnie), and Cindy Jane Shields (William). Tina also leaves behind a large extended family of great nieces and nephews: Caitlyn Pace (Andy), Hannah Medley, Bethany Carter (Anthony), Bailey Medley, Mary Lou Medley, Michael Medley, Justin German, David German, DeJay Gammell, Daniel Gammell, Jessica Perry (Stephen), and Mathew Brady Shields; and her two great-great-nephews, Noah Pace and Josiah "JoJo" Pace.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Edward David Houston and Addie Loucindy Feathers Houston; her two sisters, Sara Francis Morrow and Mary Ann Carter; and her brother, Danny Edward Houston.

Tina Mae Houston’s life was one of quiet strength, compassion, and unyielding love. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.
