Tommy Ray Butler, 66, passed away on November 28, 2025, in Bartlett, Tennessee. Born on March 29, 1959, in Somerville, Tennessee, he lived a life rooted in his Southern heritage and marked by deep convictions and enduring family ties.
Tommy was the son of W.T. and Dortha Butler. He grew up surrounded by a large and close-knit family, sharing his early years with his siblings and later building a legacy of his own. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Alma Joanne Doyle; his brother William Thomas Butler Jr.; and his son-in-law Dustin Lewis.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Amanda Lewis and four cherished grandchildren: Payton Butler, Chloe Faith Lewis, DJ Lewis, and Cashton Lewis, all of Collierville, Tennessee. Tommy also leaves behind four sisters: Gussie Louise Weaver of Hickory Withe; Brenda Doyle-McKnight (Sims) of Mason; Wanda Anderson of Millington; and Barbara Holly of Memphis. His brother-in-law James Doyle of Medon, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him.
Tommy was known for his strong political beliefs and was an outspoken advocate for causes he held dear. A devout supporter of Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association (NRA), he never shied away from expressing his views with passion and conviction. His presence on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok reflected both his spirited personality and his desire to stay connected with others.
A man of faith, Tommy was of the Baptist tradition. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life-he took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow and remained deeply connected to those closest to him. He was loved deeply by those who knew him and will be missed beyond measure.
