William Benton Simmons, age 77, of Eads, Tennessee, husband of Brenda Franklin Simmons, departed this life on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital, Bartlett, Tennessee. 

Mr. Simmons was born on July 9, 1948, in Copperhill, Tennessee, the son of Morrison E. Simmons and Jean Roberts Simmons. He was a graduate of Copper Basin High School, class of 1966 and earned an Associate’s Degree. 

He loved being on his machines and greatly enjoyed being outside. Bill also accomplished many things in his life, including having a private pilot’s license and starting two businesses with his uncle. 

Mr. Simmons loved fast cars, jets and drag-racing. He had a deep love for his family and was so very proud of his Grandchildren. 

It was said that he was the kindest, most generous and forgiving business owner and employer you could ask for. His love language was service and he took great pride in helping others. He was always wanting to teach and put his knowledge onto others. 

Bill Simmons will be missed by so many, including those in his family who survive him including his wife, Brenda Franklin Simmons; his two daughters, Cristy Urban (Harold) and April Austein (Roy); his two sons, Jeremy Simmons (Natasha) and John Thomas. He is also survived by his brother, Stanley M. Simmons (Barbara); his grandchildren, Jake Austein, Carson Austein, Luke Austein, William Urban, Nathan Urban, Zachary Simmons, Chloe Simmons, Abby Simmons, and Kendyl Thomas Hester (Mason); and one great-grandchild, Link Hester. 

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Morrison and Jean Simmons; one sister, Sheila Simmons Rector; and one brother, Allen C. Simmons. 

William Benton Simmons will be greatly missed by not only his family but all those who knew him in any capacity. He did make a difference in many people’s lives.

Services for Mr. Simmons will be private.
