David Alan Simmons
May 12, 1958 ~ October 20, 2023 (age 65) 65 Years Old
David Simmons, of Union City, Tennessee, was born on May 12, 1958 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2023.
David was born to Adrian and Donna Simmons, both who have preceded him in death. David graduated from Overton High School in 1976. He studied music education at University of Memphis, Missions at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and Bible at Luther Rice College and Seminary. David has been on staff as Pastor, Minister of Music or Youth Minister at Cowart M. B. Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, Madison Baptist Church, Riverwood Baptist Church, Hickory Ridge Baptist Church, Hartland Heights Baptist Church, Mullins Station Baptist Church and West Shiloh Baptist Church. In addition, David served as a Director for the Church Leadership Training Institute. David retired in April, 2021. David's motto for his life was: "My life belongs to the Lord. I live to serve Him."
David is survived by his brother, Mike and his wife, Mary Catherine; two nieces, Lyndsey Simmons and Katie Simmons-Carol; two grand-nieces, Ruby Carroll and Sienna Thornton; eight cousins and an aunt and uncle.
Memorial Services for Mr. Simmons will be at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Cherry Road Baptist Church located at 1421 Cherry Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38117. The officiating minister will be Bro. Don West.
