Edna Frances Jewell Leonard, age 96, resident of Selmer, Tennessee and wife of the late Everett Leonard, departed this life Sunday morning, June 28, 2020 at Northbrooke Senior Living in Jackson, Tennessee.
Edna Frances was born May 21, 1924 in Hornsby, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jessie Caldwell Jewell and Sallie Mae Coburn Jewell. She went to beauty school to become a hairdresser. She was a hairdresser and also worked at Hallmark Cards and American Greeting Cards for many years before her retirement. Edna Frances was formerly a member of First Baptist Church in Somerville, Tennessee and most recently a member of First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. She was a member of the Senior’s Flower Gardeners and she enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and flower gardening. Edna Frances considered the greatest blessing in life to be her family.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her grandson, David W. Hodge and his wife, Leah of Rock Island, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband who died June 29, 2005, Everett Leonard; her parents, Jessie and Sallie Jewell; her son, Willis L. Hodge of Moline, IL; and her grandson, Daniel Brian Hodge.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Leonard were held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee with Pastor Gary Snuffin officiating. Interment was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bartlett, Tennessee.
