Michael Thomas Baker

Michael Thomas Baker, age 30, son of Karen Baker of Memphis, Tennessee and Tommy Baker of Hernando, Mississippi, departed this life Monday afternoon, April 12, 2021.

Memorial Services for Michael were held at 3 P.M. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. He was cremated at his request with some of the ashes to mom and dad and some over his paternal grandfather, Tom Baker’s grave and maternal grandmother, Hazel Gwaltney’s grave.

Michael was born June 15, 1990 in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his education from the Shelby County Public School System (Bartlett High School) and was a graduate of Gateway Christian School. He was a lifelong resident of Memphis.

Michael  is survived by his mother, Karen Baker of Memphis, TN; his father, Tommy Baker (Roberta) of Hernando, MS; grandmother, Ruby Baker; his girlfriend, Cecilia Perez and her son, Kaelen; three aunts, Judy Hargis, Donna Mallory and Debbie Baker; seven cousins, Amanda, Amber, Clayton, Courtney, Erin, Darla and Steven; and many other family members and a large number of friends.

The family requests that memorials be directed to charities helping with drug prevention and rehabilitation. We have to stop this.
