Michael B. "Mike" Cursey

Michael B. “Mike” Cursey, age 71, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of the late Martha Sue Litton Cursey, departed this life Friday morning, May 13, 2022 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee.

Mike was born September 16, 1950 in Arlington, Tennessee, the son of the late Bennett Cursey and Maunette Preson Cursey. He was salesman for many years for C.F. Saures and Dukes. Mike was married August 27, 1972 to Martha Sue Litton Cursey who preceded him in death on March 18, 2021. Mike was an active member of Hickory Withe Baptist Church and Germantown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved helping other people and never met a stranger. He always took doughnuts to his appointments and was a huge University of Tennessee, University of Memphis and Grizzlies fan.

Mr. Cursey is survived by two sons, Scott Cursey and John Cursey; his sister, Lisa Wynn; two brothers, Tom Cursey and Robert Cursey; and his granddaughter, Brianna Cursey.

Memorial Services for Mike will be held at 12 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hickory Withe Baptist Church. A private interment will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 at a later date.
