Obituary

Olivia (Livi) Sophie Annabella Harchfield 2004-2023

“There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.” -Jane Austen

Livi’s life was tragically cut short. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her tenacity, love, and beauty forever and always.

Even in the face of her own tragedy, Livi remained a steadfast friend and confidant to everyone she knew.

Olivia was born in May of 2004 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents, Christy Denniston (1983-present) and Stephen Harchfield (1973-present). Olivia is survived by her mother and father, Christy Denniston and Stephen Harchfield; her sisters, Tayler Harchfield and Keely Harchfield as well as her brothers, Colton Dover, Maynard Harchfield, and Langston Harchfield; plus her grandparents, John and Belinda Denniston; Cynthia and Mike Lester; and Carmen Harchfield and her many aunts and uncles.

All of these she loved and inspired deeply.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather Maurice Harchfield.

Olivia was an active member and camp counselor at her church United Methodist in Braden. She was also a caring nanny and touched the lives of those that she helped. Olivia was an activist and advocate for women, children, and everyone that she felt inspired by. She was dedicated to dismantling the patriarchy and promoting equality for all. She was a huge music buff and an avid reader. She loved playing Minecraft with friends and going on trips or adventures. She loved to cook and garden. She was contagious with her presence, caring nature, and sense of humor. She provided a safe space for many people and will be forever missed.

She considered others greater than herself, was a joyful servant, gladly in the background as others received glory. We would all be better if we had as generous of a heart, refusing to harden, refusing to tolerate negativity and gossip… but embracing love and beauty.

Memorial Services were held at 2 P.M. Friday, March 10, 2023 with Rev. Michael Walker, pastor of Braden United Methodist Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thrive Memphis, committed to enriching the lives of those with intellectual disabilities by meeting their social, recreational, and continued educational needs. Other donations may be made to United Methodist Church in Braden towards their Dayshore camp. You can also honor Livi’s memory by signing the petition to stop the willow project at Change.org:
